How strong is the bond between Naples and the sea?

It’s much less strong than it could be.

How to make profit from the link Naples-sea?

Changing the approach towards the sea, it should be no longer the landscape for a postcard but a resource to be exploited.

How can the sea be a catalyst for tourism?

First of all, offering more places at a more affordable price on the boats. Then giving more freedom to circles and sport organization so that to involve “fans” the sea.

What do you think about the Port of Naples?

It is passing through a renovation and this is a good sign…knockin down the barriers between the city and the sea has been an important step, now it is necessary to cary on the work.

Do you think that Naples has become the main touristic Port of the Mediterranean ?

Absolutely not.

Do you know the project for the new Port of Naples? Do you like it? Why?

Besides the intentions to re-qualify the port-areas I don’t know more about this. This could be due to my job that takes me out of the city or to the scarce promotion campaign.

How do you think the problems of the touristic docks in Naples should be resolved?

The several authorities and institutions should set and define shared projects and find resources to realize them. The request from the public and fond of the activities connected to sea, must be the catalyst of the process.

What do you think about the level services to tourist so far?

There is still a bad quality-cost trade-off.
Which services should be improved and which implemented?
By raising the number of ports and assigning them to several subject, the relationship demand-supply should be balanced and there is more convenience.

Do you think Ports are safe?

Yes in general, after all sirocco and libeccio wind are rare phenomena, the Gulf is quite protected, something more to protect the eastern part could be made.
How do you think the perception of safety could be improved?
There’s no safety problem neither in the sea nor in land, this could only be resolved with re-qualification.

What do you think about Nautic Sud?

I still haven’t gone there this year, I took part to previous editions of that fair..it’s very interesting but we have to bring it to the same level of the nautical expo in Genoa (Salone nautico di Genova) because we have the potentialities being our city huger and richer as a sea city than Genova.
