Tour bay of naples
When talking bout Campania and Naples, it’s impossible not to point out the importance of the sea for this city. The Gulf of Naples, surrounded by Procida and Nisida Island (North) and Capri (South), spreads from Capo Miseno and Punta Campanella. Its shores have been inhabited since past (thanks to the beauty of its places): during the greek and roman ages there were born important pots and cities like Miseno, Cuma, Baia, Puteoli (Pozzuoli), Ercolano, Pompei, Oplonti and Stabia. Today, starting from Capo Miseno and travelling along the coast several natural and artificial ports are met providing tourist with gas and water. Among those, the most famous touristic harbor is Mergellina, nearby the Central rail station and the city center, with huge yachts of international jet set. After the marvelous via Caracciolo seaside, in front of city hotels and protected by Castel dell’Ovo, lies the S.Lucia area with shipyards and wharves reserved for sailing boats of the “ancient” Neapolitan sailing circles in Molosiglio. By passing the whole port of Naples, the touristic ports of Torre del Greco and Castellammare di Stabia are met. |
